RIP Khushwant Singh JI. I read "The company of a women" of your's and this was one of the most erotic novel I read. Though I was not a big fan of your writing but i like your boldness. You have the guts to say "Truth". You will be missed in a world where people can't take good humor. Rest in heaven Sir......

Review of Ashwin Sanghi's Trilogy
I
just finished the mythology based fiction trilogy of Ashwin Sanghi. This
trilogy has 3 books that start with the Rozabal line followed by the Chanakya
chants and last part is The Krishna key. I read these 3 books in reverse
chronological order and like them in opposite order. While second and third
books are very good as per standard of Indian fiction category but I must say
that 1st book The Rozabal line has created a standard benchmark.
Sanghi has a brilliant narrative style and well compiled data.I must say that he
is Dan Brown of india. The rozabal line was toughest book of an Indian author
that I read. It has combined Islam, jesus, illiminati, church and different
muslim organization in the background of India. His research work is awesome
and so credible that up to a certain time you will consider it as a real story with
no part of fiction. Story, dialogues, reference, the search work; everything was
just brilliant.
My
rating for all 3 books is:
The
Chanakya Chants: 3/5
The
Krishna Key: 4/5
The
Rozabal Line: 5/5

Bucket List
Few years back i was travelling to Mumbai via Calcutta in plane when a thought came to my mind that completing a graduation degree or marrying or getting a job is few things that are bound to happen in everybody's life at different stages and all these are certain things and achieving these things should not be only wish of someone's life there must be few things which are far bigger, far better, something for which you can feel proud or contented. From that moment i was working on my bucket list or a wish list or a must list. Today i made my bucket list partially.
There is a saying that "you are not living until u have something to die for" so based on that i am writing few simple things which i wanted to finish before i leave this world.
There is a saying that "you are not living until u have something to die for" so based on that i am writing few simple things which i wanted to finish before i leave this world.
- To write a book. I am planning it from last 2-3 years but its just not happening. I am not even sure what i will write; whether i will write a love story or a piece of philosophy but whatever i will write, will be based on my experiences of life and of all the journeys and all the stories which came across while travelling to different places or i heard from other people.
- To make my parents visit all 12 jyotirling and 4 dhaams. This is something that me and my sister has decided long back. As of now my parents has visited 4 Jyotirlings.
- To arrange education of at least one person who is not related to me.
- To arrange for marriage of a poor girl.
- To re-visit 3 of my old schools some day. I just love my childhood days. It will be a nice experience to go back to my schools and to live all those moments again.
- Want to meet my nana- nani before their death. 2 year back last time i met my nana nani.
- I made a list of few must visit places before i die. The list included few beaches, few historical places and few scenic beautiful places. I am trying hard to get some time for travelling regularly.
- To attend a live show of A R rahman. This i have already done and that was a breathtaking experience.
- To adopt one elderly couple.
- To attend a live show of Jagjit singh. Its not possible now as he is no more. the feeling that i couldn't attend his show will always hurt me.
- To attend Jaipur Literature fest.
life is an ever changing phenomena and with life, changes our hobbies wishes and priorities so i am keeping this list open so that i can add anytime anything to it....
One last thing that like everybody else I too had few naughty things in my mind as "things to do" but cant make them public.
PS: this is a request to readers that you can also suggest something to it.

I too will die someday....
I was sitting in my home when I got a call from Gautam
Ji. He is my office senior and a father figure. He wanted me to company him to
hospital as some ex-employee was admitted there. Even in serious condition I
don’t like to go to hospital but Gautam Ji wants this so I reluctantly said
yes.
On our way to hospital, I ask him that to whom we
are going to meet. He said Mr. Bannerji. The name clicked an image in my mind.
I knew him. He was very jovial old man and was retired just 4 months back in
front of me. I asked Gautam Ji that what happened to him. He said “cancer”. His
tone was monotonous. Till now I was walking in hospital as if I am walking in
some kind of garden. But the mere mention of the illness made my leg heavy.
Honestly speaking, like many people I too heard a lot about cancer and peoples
successful survival from it but actually I never came across a guy with this
illness.
I came out of my thoughts when Gautam Ji stopped to
talk to a patient. Gautam Ji was talking
to him something and he wasn’t replying. It took me 15 mins to realize that he
is talking to Mr Bannerjee. I realized
that what an illness of cancer’s magnitude can do to a man. He was shaking. He
was bald. In place of eyes there were two holes, inside of very deep you can
find retina. He wasn’t a man, he was just a structure. He was not able to
speak. When Gautam Ji told him about me then he just stare at me…our eyes met
for few seconds and those moments were seems like longest moments I have lived.
His eyes were blank, expressionless. I realized as if his eyes are saying that
today is my turn, you too will die someday. When he was looking in my eyes, I
felt very frightened and weak and frustrated and helpless. We locked our eyes
for some seconds and for that time I almost felt his pain, his suffering. This
was the time it occurred to me that I can also die or I will also die some day.
I get to know that he has cancer from 2 years and he
is in his last stage. Gautam Ji said that he has stopped reacting to medicines.
He is not taking food or anything. He also said that he will die in 1-2 months.
It was amazing to feel that you are looking at somebody who will not remain
alive after some time. After some time you will not be able to see him.
I left hospital with a heavy heart. This was most
frightening moment of my mind. I was feeling numb.
Yesterday I came to know that he is no more. He is
just a memory now. I was looking at his picture of his farewell and realize he
is saying to me that you too die someday.
