India After Gandhi

Just finished reading "India After Gandhi" by Ramchandra Guha. Its very awesome book. One can take it as a travelogue as well. A travelogue of a nation's journey from a chaos to a leading democracy. The book has been written with very sincerity and covers all important from early 40s to almost 90. The book has covered most of the important events and persons associated with them. It also present fact and data with reliable source which the made the book more trustworthy.
I came to know a lot of things via this book. I also got more knowledge on Nehru and JP from this book only. Book has presented many nationals and international events with a neutral point of view. Though the book didn't have any weak point yet one can argue that it criticize BJP and RSS very much. Little harsh on both organisation to identified them as communal agents. It also didn't put much emphasis on life of Netaji and his death.
One can termed the book as pro-nehru but i don't think that will be justified. In fact, one gets a new perception to know Nehru. It also present Nehru's personality in very new light.
Its a 770 page book,  3rd most thickest after Shantaram and Atlus Shrugged and i always enjoy finishing such books.
All i can say is that it is a must read, if you want to know India or Indian or Journey of 520 provinces to 01 country.
