Review of Raazi

Yesterday I saw the movie Raazi. Despite being a patriotic movie, it was different in many senses. It didn't have any chest thumping or any anti-Pakistani, neither it has any larger than life character. It didn't even have the "Compulsory Jan Gan Man". Still, it was a beautifully written and powerfully acted patriotic movie. More then a movie it was a journey of different characters. The plot is good, acting is superb. The casting was spot on and all characters just fit into their roles seamlessly. This is Alia is 3rd classic performance after Highway and Udta Punjab and with every such role, she is getting better. Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajat Kapoor nailed it in their performance. Meghna Gulzar is actually making an image of serious and sensitive film-maker and her films "Filhal","Talwar" and "Raazi" justifies it. One of the advantages of watching a Meghna Gulzar movie is the lyrics by Gulzar. Musci is the high point of the film and never leave the main plot. This movie is more a journey of different characters. You can call it a poetic tribute to the country."Raazi" is a must watch for Alia's acting, for Meghna's direction, for a fresh patriotism.
