India's biggest cover up by Anuj Dhar: Book Review

I just finished reading “India’s biggest cover up” by Anuj Dhar. Before this book my association with Bose was through different history books and documentaries. I quite like Shaym Benegals movie “Bose: the forgotten hero”. I read a lot about mystery surrounding his death but never get to know things in depth. To me Bose was like many other freedom fighters. Reading India’s biggest cover up has changed things for me, my point of view has changed. I get to k now many things in detail about Bose’s death, his resurrection. This book provides an in depth analysis of most hidden part of Bose’s life i.e. his life after his death. The book uses official references and pointed to a world of controversies. Book raises many questions and provides answers as well.

I just love this book. It’s another example to prove that we are reading history from a more congress point of view. It’s a finest book on “Investigative Journalism” . It’s a must read for suspense and history lovers. My rating for this book is 4.5/5.

गुनाहों का देवता ....

Just finished reading "Gunahon Ka Devta" by "Dharmveer Bharti"....Awesome Love Story....Depicts a decent definition of true love...It also depicts a fight going in one's mind between "Love in Lust" and "Lust is Love"...Just love the Characters (Sudha and Chandar). Both have became family members to me...Every man should have a sudha in his life and every girl should have a chandar in her life....
The novel left permanent impact on my heart and memory and will always remain special for me. Though it echoed the same emotions on love which i expressed two year back in one of my blog but i just love this one.
It left me emotionally drenched....
And i am feeling too tired emotionally to start a new novel.....and thats the best compliment for a novel....

I started reading books in 2007 that's the reason for this poor list. For the last 1 year didn't get time to read any books but after August, I will be totally free. Ideally, I believe everyone should finish 1 book in 1 month but it depends on a person's reading habits and speed. So with an average of this speed, one should read 720 books in 60 years and that's the target. If by the age of 60 years, I read 720 books I will be a peaceful man.

Review of Shiva Trilogy

Recently I read “Oath of the Vayuputras” by Amish hence finished Shiva trilogy by the author. First and second instalments of the book I already finished in Mumbai last year. First part – The immortals of Meluha was a promising start of the trilogy.
Usually in any book initial few pages were wasted in introducing characters and preparing plots but here Imortals of Meluha will surprise you with its gripping pace even from first page.
Personally “secret of nagas” was my favourite of lot. Few lines that i like in trilogy are:
1.                  Time is never the problem when you battle evil. The problem is the will to fight it.
2.                  The question is not “what is evil”? The real question is “when does good become evil?”
3.                  Sometimes there can be good people on both sides of a war.
4.                  Just because we don’t understand something doesn’t necessarily mean it is rubbish.
5.                  Words can only be as good or bad as the thoughts they convey.
6.                  Weak people never admit that they are responsible for their own state. They always blame either circumstances or others.
Final Rating:
1.                  Immortals of Meluha: 3.5/5
2.                  Secret Of Nagas:4.5/5
3.                  Oath of vayuputras:3/5

Me Gemini.....

My birthday 17th June falls in Gemini. I always have the curiosity to know about
and find it totally similar to my nature.
The sign of Gemini, having the symbol of 'The Twins', is considered to be the child of the zodiac. Just as his symbol, a Gemini person will always have two different sides to his changeable personality. He changes his mind too quickly, along with his clothes, his job, his love life or even his residence.
Ruled by the planet Mercury, Gemini people tend to get bored too quickly and need new stimulating things every now and then. They seem to be surrounded by a nervous, crackling energy and mostly talk fluently and fast. Since the brain of Gemini is always overworked, he needs more rest and sleep than the other. Highly imaginative, he is always on the lookout for something more.
The phrase 'Grass is greener on the other side' suits perfectly to a Gemini. He is always seeking the greener pasture, the brighter star and the blue sky. He is multi-talented, has an exceptionally good sense of humour and is tactful and diplomatic. However, he does lack patience and persistence.

RIP Khushwant Singh Ji

RIP Khushwant Singh JI. I read "The company of a women" of your's and this was one of the most erotic novel I read. Though I was not a big fan of your writing but i like your boldness. You have the guts to say "Truth". You will be missed in a world where people can't take good humor. Rest in heaven Sir......

Review of Ashwin Sanghi's Trilogy

I just finished the mythology based fiction trilogy of Ashwin Sanghi. This trilogy has 3 books that start with the Rozabal line followed by the Chanakya chants and last part is The Krishna key. I read these 3 books in reverse chronological order and like them in opposite order. While second and third books are very good as per standard of Indian fiction category but I must say that 1st book The Rozabal line has created a standard benchmark. Sanghi has a brilliant narrative style and well compiled data.I must say that he is Dan Brown of india. The rozabal line was toughest book of an Indian author that I read. It has combined Islam, jesus, illiminati, church and different muslim organization in the background of India. His research work is awesome and so credible that up to a certain time you will consider it as a real story with no part of fiction. Story, dialogues, reference, the search work; everything was just brilliant.
My rating for all 3 books is:
The Chanakya Chants: 3/5
The Krishna Key: 4/5
The Rozabal Line: 5/5

Bucket List

Few years back i was travelling to Mumbai via Calcutta in plane when a thought came to my mind that completing a graduation degree or marrying or getting a job is few things that are bound to happen in everybody's life at different stages and all these are certain things and achieving these things should not be only wish of someone's life there must be few things which are far bigger, far better, something for which you can feel proud or contented. From that moment i was working on my bucket list or a wish list or a must list. Today i made my bucket list partially.
There is a saying that "you are not living until u have something to die for" so based on that i am writing few simple things which i wanted to finish before i leave this world.
  1. To write a book. I am planning it from last 2-3 years but its just not happening. I am not even sure what i will write; whether i will write a love story or a piece of philosophy but whatever i will write, will be based on my experiences of life and of all the journeys and all the stories which came across while travelling to different places or i heard from other people.
  2. To make my parents visit all 12 jyotirling and 4 dhaams. This is something that me and my sister has decided long back. As of now my parents has visited 4 Jyotirlings.
  3. To arrange education of at least one person who is not related to me.
  4. To arrange for marriage of a poor girl.
  5. To re-visit 3 of my old schools some day. I just love my childhood days. It will be a nice experience to go back to my schools and to live all those moments again.
  6. Want to meet my nana- nani before their death. 2 year back last time i met my nana nani.
  7. I made a list of few must visit places before i die. The list included few beaches, few historical places and few scenic beautiful places. I am trying hard to get some time for travelling regularly.
  8. To attend a live show of A R rahman. This i have already done and that was a breathtaking experience.
  9. To adopt one elderly couple.
  10. To attend a live show of Jagjit singh. Its not possible now as he is no more. the feeling that i couldn't attend his show will always hurt me.
  11. To attend Jaipur Literature fest.
life is an ever changing phenomena and with life, changes our hobbies wishes and priorities so i am keeping this list open so that i can add anytime anything to it....
One last thing that like everybody else I too had few naughty things in my mind as "things to do" but cant make them public.
PS: this is a request to readers that you can also suggest something to it.
